Once you have manoeuvred a boat equipped with a QL bow and/or stern thruster, you will know that this is one of those things that make boating so wonderful. It has never been easier to dock in a tight spot or maintaining station in strong side winds or current. QL thrusters make manoeuvring much easier and thereby also making it safe. The thrusters are designed for maximum endurance, performance and reliability. The range of QL thrusters has been developed and extended to include thrusters that incorporate the latest research findings and results of extensive trials in ship design laboratories and at sea. QL bow and stern thrusters are approved to 94/25/EEC. The very efficient transfer of energy from motor to propeller, combined with the hydrodynamically shaped lower gear housing make QL bow and stern thrusters the most powerful in their respective power ranges. The design of the gear housing and propellers permits a large volume of water to pass through the tunnel, which in turn gives more power in relation to electricity consumption. BP300 and CT600 have gear housings of acidresistant steel with smaller dimensions, which therefore provide even better throughput.
